‘One Love’ Connects the World for Bob Marley’s 80th Birthday Singalong

UK, LONDON, Monday 10th February 2025: The 6th of February marked the 80th Birthday of Jamaican reggae legend Bob Marley. To celebrate, Young Voices, the largest children's choir in the world, hosted a Worldwide Singalong featuring the 'Marley Magic' medley, including classics such as "Three Little Birds," "One Love," and "Jamming." Led by an 8,000-strong choir at Co-op Live in Manchester, UK, on 6th February, the event paid homage to Marley's powerful messages of love, unity, and peace.
Approximately 140,000 students from 1,040 schools across 38 countries, including Jamaica participated. The singalong aimed to unite people from around the globe, inviting them to honour Bob Marley and embrace reggae, a core part of Jamaica's identity.
Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett shared: “As we commemorated the 80th anniversary of Bob Marley's birth, we acknowledged the profound impact of his music in fostering unity and joy. The Young Voices Worldwide Singalong served as a powerful reminder of Jamaica's cultural heritage and its ability to connect hearts around the world.”
As part of the celebration, schools, students, and families worldwide signed up for the FREE singalong with access to resources, allowing them to participate in the world’s largest children’s choir from their classroom, assembly hall, or home while Young Voices live-streamed the incredible event.
“Bob Marley is a legendary icon whose influence resonates globally. The Young Voices performance beautifully paid tribute to his enduring legacy, showcasing how he continues to inspire new generations.” said Donovan White, Jamaica’s Director of Tourism
